Patient Care Assistant Training and Employment Program - Brigham PCA Academy

Mass General Brigham (MGB) invites applicants to join the paid Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Trainee Program starting Monday, November 10, 2025. Interviews will be held onsite on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The program requires a minimum 24‑hour weekly commitment and completion of the entire training duration without scheduling conflicts. Program Overview

The PCA Trainee Program spans 6 weeks, beginning with BWH orientation and Center of Nursing Excellence training (Weeks 1‑2) followed by unit‑based clinical skills (Weeks 3‑6). Upon successful completion, trainees receive immediate employment as a Patient Care Associate at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Responsibilities

Aid patients in daily living activities: personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, turning/repositioning, sanitizing patient areas and equipment. Ensure a safe and compassionate environment for patients. Document care aspects on approved forms and electronic medical records. Obtain and record vital signs. Collect specimens. Respond to patient and family requests. Assist with equipment preparation. Support efficient unit operation and remotely monitor the safety of multiple patients via continuous virtual monitoring systems. Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age at program start. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. Provide email addresses for three references (two managers/mentors/instructors and one coworker). References are verified through an online platform. Pass CORI screening and national criminal background check upon program acceptance. Obtain occupational health clearance upon program acceptance. Demonstrate ability to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with caring for ill, disabled, and COVID‑19 patients. Can lift, walk, stand, and move intermittently throughout the workday without restriction. Willing to work with patients and staff of all genders and ethnic backgrounds. Commit to a minimum of one year of employment with BWH after successful training completion. Current MGB employees or affiliates are welcome to apply. Additional Job Details
