Full-Time Position Summary:

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Wound Care Center team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, surgical wounds, and other complex wounds. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the PA/NP will play a critical role in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to promote optimal healing and improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Perform wound care procedures, such as debridement, dressing changes, compression therapy, and application of advanced wound care products. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate multidisciplinary care. Monitor and document wound healing progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Educate patients and their families on wound care management, prevention, and lifestyle modifications to support healing. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies, to guide clinical decision-making. Prescribe medications, including antibiotics, pain management, and other treatments, in accordance with state regulations and hospital policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advancements in wound care through continuing education and professional development. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications

Education:

APRN or PA with applicable graduate degree. Master’s degree is required upon hire (for APRN) or as per state licensing; AP requirement varies by role. Licensing and Certifications: NP: Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s); must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s); national certification as a Nurse Practitioner; current DEA license or designee as required by NCQA; wound care certification or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire; BLS required; ACLS or PALS (or NRP) may be required depending on work setting; must have arrangements with at least one physician per State Board of Nursing requirements; credentialed and privileged by hospital Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body. PA: NCCPA certification; license to practice and prescribe issued by state Licensing Board; current DEA license or designee as required by NCQA; BLS required; ACLS/PALS/ATLS as required by work setting; must have Physician Supervision Agreement and be credentialed and privileged by hospital Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body. Work Experience

Previous experience in wound care, dermatology, vascular surgery, or related field preferred. New graduates with strong interest in wound care are encouraged to apply. Skills

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with EMR and basic computer skills. Work Environment

The Wound Care Center operates during regular business hours with no on-call or weekend requirements. Outpatient and inpatient settings; occasional exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.
