Overview
RN Pre OP PACU Endoscopy PRN at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center. Describes the role of the RN Pre OP PACU in providing continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. May assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in preparation for discharge. Job Summary
Responsible to plan, execute, and evaluate the nursing care given to patients in the Endoscopy nursing role. Provides patient care within prevailing state standards of practice and the policies of the facility. Communicates appropriate information to other team members. Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of the unit. May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager, including but not limited to providing patient care in other peri-operative departments (Pre-Op, PACU), serving on committees, and participating in quality improvement projects. Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have at least 1-3 years of previous experience in PreOP/PACU and Endoscopy Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
