Overview
We’re seeking an experienced LC-MS Toxicology Supervisor to oversee and support all aspects of LC-MS/MS drug testing — from sample preparation to final result release. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and confident managing the entire analytical workflow while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of LC-MS toxicology testing, ensuring timely and accurate results.
Perform, review, and approve all stages of LC-MS/MS workflow: specimen prep, extraction, run setup, data analysis, and final result release.
Maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS instrumentation (Sciex).
Review chromatograms and data for accuracy and flag outliers or interferences.
Oversee and train laboratory staff on SOPs, method validation, and quality standards.
Manage QC and calibration processes, ensuring compliance with CLIA and COLA requirements.
Assist with production and verification of stock solutions, calibrators, and quality controls.
Maintain documentation for QA/QC, maintenance logs, and reagent tracking.
Collaborate with the Laboratory Director and QA Manager to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of hands-on LC-MS/MS experience in clinical or forensic toxicology.
Strong understanding of the full LC-MS drug testing process (A-Z) — from prep to data review.
Knowledge of stock solution, calibrator, and QC material preparation is a major plus.
Experience with quantitative data analysis and validation processes.
Ability to lead and train staff in a high-throughput laboratory environment.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
