Responsibilities

Oversee pharmacy operations and ensure the highest standards of safety and accuracy, including verifying non-sterile compounds and overseeing repackaging processes for all Florida Cleveland Clinic sites.

Ensure prescriptions are dispensed accurately, timely and with respect; apply clinical expertise to appropriately select, dose, administer and dispense medications that support patients’ health and recovery.

Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.

Ensure appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.

Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.

Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives and ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.

Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.

Provide cost-effective care.

Schedule A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Qualifications

PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals administering immunizations.

Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the AHA or American Red Cross upon or within one of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events.

Preferred qualifications

Board Certification.

3–5 years of experience in a hospital setting.

Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience; PGY2 or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area.

Physical Requirements

Typical physical demands include standing and walking for prolonged periods (approximately 75% of shift) and continuous activity.

Manual dexterity to perform computer and dispensing functions; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Position may involve reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.

Normal or corrected vision required.

Ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
