Overview
Bon Secours is recruiting for the Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) – Southampton Memorial Hospital. This is a full-time, night-shift position (weekends: Friday, Saturday and Sunday). A sign-on bonus of up to $35,000 may be available for this opening. The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a manner that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely way. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans. Licensing/Certification
BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required; preferred upon hire and must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required) Advanced modality registration in CT with ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years) State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed) Education
Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited program (preferred) Work Experience
1 year of experience as CT or Rad Tech (preferred) Training
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred) Picture archiving and communication system (PACS) (preferred) Essential Job Functions
Assure the quality of all images and verify that all pertinent patient/procedural data are correct. Perform computed tomography procedures. Perform timeout as required by policy. Properly position patients on CT scanning cradles and immobilize patients using appropriate devices to obtain the desired position. Make radiation exposures by energizing the scanner as directed by the physician and patient history. Perform intravenous injections and demonstrate knowledge of IV care; administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast agents as procedures require. Assist the radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures, utilizing sterile techniques and safe handling of contrast and radiation materials. Maintain working knowledge of CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS. Participate in on-call rotation as required.
