Overview We are seeking a

bilingual (Spanish-English)

team member to support a

research project

focused on understanding the health and safety communication needs of

immigrant construction workers

and workplace stakeholders across the Midlands region of South Carolina.

Based at: Columbia, South Carolina

Project Dates:

August 19, 2025 – May 15, 2026

Time Commitment:

Approximately 10 hours per week

Pay:

$16–18 per hour (contractor or USC student hire)

Ideal Candidate

Are

fluent in Spanish and English

(speaking, writing, and reading)

Have

some experience

in research or a

strong interest

and willingness to learn

Are comfortable with or open to learning research tools such as

NVivo

Possess strong

writing and communication skills

Are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks independently

Are comfortable engaging with community stakeholders and visiting construction sites when needed

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to a literature review

Assist in identifying construction sites and coordinating interviews

Support data collection activities, including interviews, focus groups, and note-taking

Translate materials between English and Spanish

Assist with transcription, coding, and organization of qualitative data

Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project dissemination
