Overview
We seek an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Podiatry Department, a Division of Orthopedics, in the Outpatient & Inpatient setting. The APP will support the podiatry department in outpatient clinic management, assist in inpatient management, and assist in surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a specialized care position focusing on foot and ankle health. There will be no weekend coverage. New grads and experienced providers are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Conservatively manage foot and ankle orthopedic conditions Manage diabetic foot conditions including wound care Refer to necessary multi-disciplinary teams when needed, in both inpatient and outpatient settings Complete in-office bedside procedures (e.g., wound debridements, nail removals, injections, wart treatments, wound VAC applications) Assist in managing admitted patients in the hospital setting Function in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients Work in conjunction with an additional APP to ensure surgical case coverage Uphold the standards of the system-wide customer service program Qualifications
MSN or equivalent from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program. Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio and Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Certification as an APRN in the specialty. Or Physician Assistant credential: graduated from an accredited PA program with certification by the NCCPA and active licensure to practice in Ohio by the State Medical Board of Ohio. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtain within 90 days of hire. Obtain other advanced life support certifications applicable to the practice area within 180 days of hire. Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and reports to the Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges. Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Note: Other department-specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process. Employment details
