OCI's Compute Control Plane is the central nervous system for OCI. Our services enable customers to manage the worldwide compute resources that power their businesses. Our APIs help customers manage their fleet, and our back-end services proactively monitor and provide self-healing capabilities for maximum fleet availability. We’re looking for developers with experience in distributed systems and highly available services. These are exciting times in our space – we are growing fast and working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact. Responsibilities
As a member of the OCI Compute Control Plane, help design, debug, and develop customer-facing features. Identify opportunities for improvement and, when necessary, refactor existing code to better support evolving customer needs. Provide technical leadership to other software developers and contribute to team improvement. Write world-class software with a strong emphasis on code quality. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience shipping services software Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures Knowledge of Internet protocols and standards, including REST, SSL and HTTP Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Computer Science Strong understanding of event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka Strong grasp of Kubernetes Experience in a start-up environment Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems Strong grasp of Unix-like operating systems Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure About Us & Benefits
