Systems Engineer
to join our team in
Belcamp, MD . This is an onsite position. Responsibilities
Interacting with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design. Participates in the development of test strategies. Assist in developing solutions to systems engineering challenges based on technology insertion and new product integration. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Tactical Network hardware and software systems as they relate to large-scale battlefield communications at all echelons. Install (load) unit-specific configurations (configs) / Internet Protocols (IP) based on the latest unit System Architecture and the Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF). Ensure that PdM NetMod and PdM Mission Network systems are Fully Mission Capable (FMC) following Initial Fielding, Reset or Upgrade and are ready for missions. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and 10+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer or performing System Engineer related activities. 5+ years in the Department of Defense supporting systems engineering technologies (highly preferred). Familiarity with designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable communication networks in dynamic, often military or field-based environments. Experience with integrating existing infrastructures with new tactical network components. Ability to break systems into major components and understand interfaces between them. Ability to design systems and components with modular design and standard interfaces to provide scalability and change when needed. Experience with managing network connectivity between various platforms such as ground vehicles, airborne assets, and command centers. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with selecting appropriate network protocols and technologies for mission needs, including data link layers, routing protocols, and encryption mechanisms. Experience with testing methodologies for embedded systems, integration testing, and systems-level testing. Familiarity with simulation tools to analyze system performance under various scenarios. Experience with hardware interfacing (analog/digital converters, sensors, actuators). Ability to obtain DoD 8570/8410 IAT Level II. Clearance Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current/active Secret clearance. Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Seniority level
