Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests. Support the store environment and current sales initiatives, building relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including providing receipts and ensuring high-quality service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone, escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate, and maintain professional phone etiquette. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., reservations, trade-ins, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and document performance feedback in Workday/HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager. With the Store Manager, ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts. Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, supervise staffing levels for optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off requests, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising per guidelines, and ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control, loss prevention practices, and safe handling of bank deposits; inspect packages/belongings at closing as appropriate and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep shelves organized and alphabetized. Balance daily transactions, complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report issues to Store/District Manager. Process defective items/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries as required. Help maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is absent. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (6 months) and/or retail sales/guest service/management experience (2 years) preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills; provide genuine assistance to guests. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and in a team; meet performance expectations; operate POS; basic math and alphabetizing. Complete required paperwork accurately; follow instructions; manage financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone and move around the store; lift up to 30 lbs. Understanding of safety and loss prevention practices; basic on-the-job knowledge as applicable to military base locations.
