Representative Duties
The successful applicant will provide instruction in a range of Political Science courses. Duties include: Participating in student recruitment and transfer articulation for the Science department Maintaining current subject matter expertise Developing and revising curricula Utilizing computer and multimedia technology Engaging in departmental, college, and discipline-specific activities This may include teaching via multiple methodologies, at various campus sites, during day, evening, or weekend hours, including large classes, distance learning, and classes for incarcerated students. Master's in Political Science, Government, or International Relations; or Bachelor's in one of these and Master's in Economics, History, Public Administration, Social Science, Sociology, Ethnic Studies, JD, or LL.B.; or valid credential authorizing full-time teaching of Political Science at California Community Colleges; or equivalent. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit an

with supporting documents. Degrees must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees require evaluation by a recognized credential evaluation service. Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. Knowledge & Abilities
The applicant should demonstrate: Effective collaboration with colleagues and diverse students Ability to work with students of varying skills and goals Curriculum development skills, including for different modalities Experience in recruitment and articulation activities Effective communication skills Subject matter currency Ability to assess student outcomes Proficiency with computers and new technologies Commitment to the California community college mission Special Instructions
