Position Summary The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs, including online and dual‑credit/early college classes. This temporary term instructor role may lead to a regular instructor or professor appointment.

Responsibilities

Teach five (5) courses per regular semester, including online courses as needed.

Plan course instruction based on approved syllabus outlines to meet course content and objectives.

Utilize a variety of teaching styles and instructional technologies (computers, internet resources, LMS such as Blackboard or Canvas).

Develop and provide clear course syllabi, instructional materials, and provide open office hours (at least 1 hour daily).

Evaluate student progress toward course outcomes and use assessment data for continuous improvement.

Assist with academic advising for declared majors and provide guidance to students from diverse multicultural backgrounds.

Participate in self‑evaluation processes, departmental meetings, and college‑related activities.

Maintain professional standards, participate in professional development, and support accreditation standards.

Serve on committees, assist with marketing programs, attend institutional activities, and contribute to community outreach.

Qualifications

Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Successful college teaching experience, including instruction of online courses and use of instructional technology.

Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the teaching discipline and ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.

Knowledge of student success strategies, learning communities, and commitment to continuous instructional improvement.

Experience with online learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and documented training in college online learning environments.
