Commercial Account Executive - Michigan / Ohio. Drive strategic growth for SUSE by managing a portfolio of key accounts within the Michigan / Ohio region. Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, deepen customer relationships, and align SUSE’s value proposition with customer objectives. The role requires strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high-value solutions that support customer success and market share growth. Key Responsibilities

Establish and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, including CXO-level executives. Build relationships with Economic Buyer, Technical Buyer, Coach, and Executive Buyer. Apply consultative-selling techniques to understand client goals and challenges related to mission-critical workloads and innovation; act as a trusted advisor to align SUSE offerings with client needs. Proactively own your professional development and growth as a sales professional; deepen expertise in SUSE’s value proposition. Identify and capitalise on upselling and cross-selling opportunities; leverage knowledge of SUSE’s capabilities and market position. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine sales strategies. Maintain CRM hygiene, update activity, opportunities, and deals to manage the pipeline and provide accurate forecasts. Serve as the primary contact for customers through the full sales cycle, from initial contact to negotiation and closing, and handover to Customer Success for implementation. Partner with the SUSE ecosystem of partners to broaden solution offerings and extend opportunities. Collaborate on Account Plans with Pre-Sales, Inside Sales, Partner Ecosystem, and Specialist Sales teams to deliver comprehensive solutions. Identify and prioritise key accounts each quarter with high potential for SUSE adoption and set milestones to maximise market share growth. Skills & Experience

Experience in sales and account management with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Knowledge of the enterprise software industry with familiarity in Linux Infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud, Container Management, Edge, AI, and Security. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex technical solutions clearly. Analytical skills to understand market trends and apply insights to sales strategies. Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on innovative client solutions. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners. Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Clari) to manage pipelines and forecast sales. Ability to apply enterprise sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger or similar); industry certifications are a plus. Understanding of Open Source and transformation topics (cloud-native app development, cloud migration). What We Offer
