BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. This role is suited for an exceptionally motivated candidate with a genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and a passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion is essential. This position offers a chance to make a lasting impact on our diverse academic community. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Provide instruction according to the approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and course outlines, based on college needs. Assignments depend on class availability, seniority, and qualifications, including conducting classes, preparing lessons, evaluating students, developing syllabi, assessing learning outcomes, and other related duties. Maintain and submit accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports by deadlines. Uphold professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position. Advise students on academic matters. Maintain competency in the field. An applicant may qualify through education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To qualify for equivalency, submit college transcripts and a detailed work experience description with your application. Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree or higher with two years of professional experience; OR Associate's degree with six years of professional experience; And possess a current Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy Instructor Certification Course (A.I.C.C.) certificate. A current certification is required for continued employment. Applicants should demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a). Note:
