WHAT YOU'LL DO Under the general direction of a dean, an Instructor (Non-Contract/Temporary) provides comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of their academic or vocational objectives. In accordance with Education Code sections 87482.5, Instructors (Non-Contract/Temporary) may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment. We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for part-time instructors in this discipline at Moorpark College. Moorpark College, part of the Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD), was founded in 1967. It serves approximately 15,000 students and emphasizes a "students first" philosophy. Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills. Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, transfer opportunities, lifelong learning resources, and study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate. Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback in class, online, or during office hours. Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; align with department, college, and district goals. Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data and reports timely. Evaluate and select instructional materials; order materials as needed to ensure timely delivery. Revise course content and materials in line with new theory and industry developments. Update syllabi and collaborate on measurable student performance indicators. May participate in curriculum development, committees, articulation, matriculation activities, and supervision of others. Perform related duties as assigned. E
= Essential Duties Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook. Options include: Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience Any associate degree and six years of professional experience The equivalent* Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university. Foreign transcripts may require evaluation. *Equivalency: The District may consider combinations of education and experience as equivalent to the minimum qualifications.
