Job Summary
A staff person who provides care and supervision for preschool children in the assigned group(s) and will plan, supervise and implement the education program within the classroom in accordance with policies, procedures and overall philosophy of the Early Head Start Program.
Qualifications
A valid Teacher Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). An Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or a related field is required; alternatively, candidates must follow an educational plan to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Certification in Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required. Completion of three (3) Infant and Toddler units is preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English to ensure effective communication. Ability to connect with diverse groups, including low-income families. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. A genuine dedication to providing services to children and the community. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Must complete AB 1207 California Childcare Providers: Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire, renewed every two (2) years. Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance. Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza(optional). Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI. Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
