A staff person who provides planned opportunities for children in activities designed to promote social, physical and cognitive growth and development. Responsible to plan individual and group activities that are designed to promote each child’s individual strengths with ongoing assessments and observations. Qualifications

AA/BA degree in Child Development, or 24 units in ECE and/or Child Development or related field. If you don’t possess a BA degree, you will be placed on a Professional Staff Development Plan and continuously complete courses towards a degree. Must possess a valid Teacher Permit from the CCTC, preferred. Six (6) infant/toddler units are highly preferred. If do not currently have, will be required to complete it within 1 year of employment. Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified. Two (2) years paid experience working with children 0-5. Experience working with Infant/toddlers is highly desirable. Ability to communicate, both oral and written Ability to speak, read and write English well enough to understand and be understood by others. Ability to relate to diverse groups of people including low-income families. Sensitive to others needs. Maintain confidentiality. Sincere commitment to providing services to children and the community. Ability to assess and respond quickly to varied situations. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Special Qualifications

Must complete AB 1207 California Childcare Providers: Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire, renewed every two (2) years. Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance. Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza(optional). Will be fingerprinted and must clear through DOJ and FBI. Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance. Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
