Responsibilities
The Housekeepers (or "Service Technicians") are responsible for the overall cleaning of all areas throughout the medical campus to ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, customer satisfaction, and regulatory requirements.
Clean and disinfect floors, walls, ledges, ceilings, beds, medical equipment, furnishings, commodes, sinks, and other items within the EVS scope.
Proficient in cleaning, disinfecting, waste removal, and maintaining disposable products for all areas of the facility, including patient rooms, surgical areas, clinical areas, offices, common areas, and restrooms.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Requirements)
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use one or more of: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Meditech (if applicable); Epic (if applicable); Performance Manager/NetLearning.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when warranted.
Effective communication and tact with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, and the public.
Flexibility, integrity, and ability to function as a team member.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Other Requirements Use heavy-duty floor care machines; use mop; hang curtains; move furniture as needed.
Education and Work Experience Must possess a high school diploma or GED or pass a literacy exam.
