We’re looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising
Post-Conviction
Relief Attorney
position within a premier law firm with room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain experience in criminal and immigration law and advance with an established firm in
Los Angeles . As the Post-Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We’re seeking an attorney with prior litigation and/or appellate experience to handle post-conviction relief. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will manage their caseload and client interactions, and collaborate with the Post-Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.
Responsibilities
Advise the client on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their case
Manage post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, etc.
Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position interacts with both criminal and immigration practices
Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients on strategies after each hearing
Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing in collaboration with other criminal attorneys
Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research
Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
Manage workload of cases
Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits
Qualifications
Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience
Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
Team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred but not required
Interpersonal skills of a high caliber
Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $85,000 +
