The Inkjet Engineer is responsible for operation and maintenance of ink characterization equipment, print testing rigs, and industrial inkjet commercial printers. Image analysis, color management, and image processing will be incumbent on the position as it relates to the overall Technical Service activities at the New Castle Site. This position has a supervisory role, with the Inkjet Systems Development staff of technicians as direct reports. Additional activities within the group will involve commercial support, new equipment development, and various other projects as they relate to the Technical Service group as a whole.
NATURE OF POSITION
This position provides guidance to the Inkjet Systems Development group by coordinating activities with respect to ink characterization. The incumbent is required to manage resources within the group and provide training when necessary. Project lead of various development equipment internally will also be essential for the candidate. Incumbent works on Technical Service projects and activities with close collaboration with the Technical Service Manager. Leading the ISD team to operate and maintain interlaced electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems will be expected. Developing the ability to detect print quality properties and defects, as well as interpreting ink characteristic analytics is expected. This position has an EHS requirement. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that a safe workplace is maintained, including the operation and scheduled testing of down draft tables, and will also periodically participate in EHS Committee lab tours. Position also requires proactive participation in the Continuous Improvements program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS EXPECTED
Independently leads the ISD team to operate laboratory ink evaluation equipment as required for project specific tasks. Incumbent can be depended upon to recognize unusual variations and investigate robustness of methodology within the laboratory. Will assist in providing training and guidance to team members on new equipment and software as needed. Offers suggestions on new or improved equipment and methods, including capital expenditure projects. Will be responsible for maintaining detailed spreadsheets and documents as needed to support Technical Service projects. Communicates effectively with various Fujifilm R&D, Commercial, and technical groups to contribute to the success of COUS aqueous ink strategies. The Inkjet Engineer will manage various internal industrial inkjet printing platforms and their operations, with key focus on their care and maintenance. Project management will include development/modification/improvement of ISD equipment along with optimization of current procedures as necessary. EVALUATION FACTORS

Must have a familiarity, or the willingness to learn, aspects of digital printing, and the components of industrial inkjet applications in the field. The ability to concisely present data and findings of investigations as pertain to Technical Service projects is needed. Must have strong PC computer skills with knowledge of Windows and Windows applications programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for preparation of reports. Must have some familiarity with Mac based systems for use with imaging software. The ability to learn software systems to operate and maintain ink testing platforms is required. Ability to interact with other departments to accomplish fully integrated operations with focus on teamwork through self-managing teams. Education
