TITLE EXAMINER
State of New Hampshire – Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Title and Anti-Theft.
Pay Range $17.81/hr – $23.39/hr
Job Summary Examines and approves motor vehicle title applications, ensuring accurate data entry and customer service.
Responsibilities
Review, approve or deny title applications and document authenticity.
Enter data into DMV database and verify validity.
Prepare correspondence for rejected applications and recommend investigations.
Collect and process fees, issue receipts, and secure cash.
Close daily deposits and supervise petty cash.
Conduct training classes for clerks, lenders, and dealers.
Answer customer inquiries and assist with other bureaus as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after high school.
Background investigation, including motor vehicle record and fingerprint‑based criminal record checks.
Flexibility to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the state.
Trainee Option Candidates with less than 1 year of post‑high school education and experience may be considered in trainee status and must meet minimum qualifications within one year.
After‑Hire Requirements Selected candidates must complete an intensive multi‑week training program within the first six months.
