About The Role Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time Accountant to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Bremerton, Washington. This position will prepare accurate financial statements and related analysis and maintain the chart of accounts and prepare reconciliation of general ledger accounts to meet the accounting requirements of the Kitsap Credit Union. This position will also assist with managing the investment portfolio and submit financial information to outside sources, as required.

Employment Type: Full-time, salaried, exempt, hybrid
Salary Range: $77,968.80 - $86,000 depending on experience
Bonus Target: 7% potential incentive of base pay
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Principal Accountabilities
Prepare and present monthly financial statements for management. Ensure financial data follows GAAP.
Maintain chart of accounts in all systems.
Process monthly updates and allocations in profitability software.
Maintain credit union investment portfolio including processing settlement transactions and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
Manage corporate accounts and liquidity position to ensure adequate cash levels to support daily settlement transactions, and to project future liquidity needs while maintaining appropriate borrowing capacity.
Complete monthly general ledger account reconciliations using Trintech software to investigate discrepancies by collaborating and communicating with credit union staff and management to ensure items are cleared in a timely manner.
Prepare and submit quarterly 5300 Call Report to regulators (NCUA) using Datalink and FedReporter software as needed. Represent the Accounting department in various corporate projects to ensure successful implementation.
Provide accounting and technical system support to KCU staff.
Work with outside tax partner to prepare tax returns and transmit tax deposits.
Prepare various schedules for annual CPA audit and regulatory exam (DFI/NCUA).
Qualifications And Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Four years of experience with a credit union in an accounting or finance department, or equivalent accounting or finance experience desired. This includes general ledger reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and investments.
