Non-Exempt Compensation:
$29.66 - $44.47 per hour. Tessera positions new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience. Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs. This is currently a hybrid position with at least 2 days in office and 3 days working remotely. Schedule is based on business needs.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, you will work independently to perform general ledger accounting tasks, ensure an accurate and timely month end close, and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for cash, prepaids, accruals, inter-company, fixed assets, payroll, and other accounts for all Tessera Companies.
Coordinate high-volume fixed asset purchases and record the cost of fixed assets (tangible and intangible), track existing fixed assets, record depreciation, and account for disposals.
Post customer payments in the ERP system, analyze accounts receivable, and follow up with customers to secure payment.
Maintain balance sheet schedules and produce annual schedules for external audits. Assist with account analysis and support management in finance department responsibilities.
Record operational expenses and ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Record monthly banking transactions (including interest, credit card fees, and loan payments) and enter loan amortization schedules into the accounting system.
Prepare and enter journal entries with appropriate work tags; maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for cash, prepaids, accruals, inter-company, fixed assets, payroll, and other accounts.
Record other prepaid and prepaid insurance transactions; assist with commercial policies, endorsements, and bond requests for projects/bids.
Prepare and maintain high-volume fixed assets records, including purchases, transfers, disposals, replacements, and expiring assets; manage yearly fleet registrations; assist with state and local personal property tax filings.
Record garnishments and union dues; verify and record payroll payments, health benefits, and vacation accruals; assist with posting customer payments in the ERP system.
Follow up with customers on overdue accounts to secure payment and resolve issues; prepare AR analytical and ratio analyses to support management decisions.
Prepare and record bank transactions (wires, ACH, deposits, loans); resolve accounting discrepancies to meet monthly close deadlines.
Prepare and maintain audit schedules and supporting documentation; liaise with management for quarterly reviews and the annual audit; assist in developing and enforcing accounting policies/procedures.
Maintain proper procedure documentation and internal controls; provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers with timely communications and deadline confirmations.
Be a solution-driven team member focused on results; pursue cross-training opportunities within the Finance Team; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
3 - 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance is required
A combination of experience and education will be considered
GAAP, accounting standards, and financial reporting knowledge is preferred
Valid state driver's license; ability to obtain and maintain Tessera insurance coverage
Access to a federal military installation requires REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (e.g., U.S. passport or military ID)
Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; a background check and E-Verify will be conducted
