Experience The ideal candidate is collaborative and has strong expertise in one or more academic content areas. Experience working with students identified as EB/EL and/or those served by Special Education. Experience as a teacher leader (e.g., instructional coach, district level content specialist, or campus-level administrator/instructional leader). Demonstrable skill with data analysis and instructional coaching – specifically related to improving student performance against measurable learning outcomes. Summary The College of Education is seeking a terminally degreed (e.g., PhD or EdD} candidate with at least 5 years of experience as an educator in the PK-12 setting for a faculty position in teacher preparation. This role is set (primarily} at the International campus location (operations in Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde}. The successful candidate should have experience teaching in an academic content area (e.g., math, science, ELAR , and/or science}, a demonstrable record of success as an educator, a certification (in good standing) in an academic category in the teaching class, and experience working with students with special needs and/or with EB/EL students. Preference will be given to candidates with EC-6 certification, bilingual/ ESL certification, and/or with those who are certified to work with students served in Special Education. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience as an instructional coach and/or to those who have experience in writing curriculum. Scope College of Education Faculty Duties Essential: Once in appointment, the new faculty member will be responsible for performance in the areas of teaching, research, and service with greater attention being given to teaching and service. Daily functions will include instruction, teacher candidate supervision, and service in efforts to advance the quality and impact of the College of Education’s mission to prepare and equip education candidates for service as teachers and in service to our district partners.
Supervision Received: Reports to the Chair of the Education Department; primary duties and responsibilities will be to the Sul Ross State University International operations in the Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde region.

The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
