Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in curriculum and instruction, relevant content area discipline with pedagogical training or relevant experience, or a closely related field. Active and valid teacher certification in good standing. Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience as a certified classroom teacher, preferably in the EC-6 environment. Demonstrable record of supporting student success. A clear vision for educator preparation. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with students identified as EB/EL and/or those served by Special Education. Experience as a teacher leader or instructional coach. Skills in data analysis and instructional coaching to improve student performance. Experience teaching as an adjunct instructor. Primary Responsibilities:
The faculty member will be responsible for teaching, research, and service, with an emphasis on teaching and service. Responsibilities include instruction, supervising teacher candidates, and contributing to the College of Education's mission to prepare educators and collaborate with district partners. Supervision:
Reports to the Chair of the Education Department; primarily serves the Sul Ross State University International operations in Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde regions. Working Conditions:
Standard eight-hour workday, forty hours per week, with some early/late hours as workload requires. Attendance at university, community, and school activities is expected. This position is security sensitive and requires safe work habits. Additional Information:
