Position Profile

Weaver seeks a State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join the Sales and Use (Indirect) Tax division of our SALT practice. The Sales and Use Tax Manager will work on multiple complex tax engagements and contribute to the delivery of innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for our diverse clients. Role overview

Sales and Use Tax Managers have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide consulting services to corporate clients. They identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Primary responsibilities include working on complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits). They may also lead projects and a team of sales and use tax professionals, and prepare complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries by researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and implications.

Responsibilities

Lead projects and a team of sales and use tax professionals on complex engagements

Perform complex indirect tax audits and managed audits

Identify and analyze tax issues and provide tax recommendations for clients

Research tax issues and prepare complex tax research deliverables

Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

CPA, CMI or JD

5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm or similar industry

Experience with indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting

Qualifications – Preferred

Master’s degree in Accounting or related field

Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff

Strong relationship management and practice development skills

Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients

Compensation and Benefits

At Weaver, our most valuable resource is our people. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. We offer competitive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) and a 401(k) plan.
