What You'll Do
We are seeking an excellent high school Chemistry teacher committed to reaching all students, raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum, and fostering a culture of excellence and joyful learning. Responsibilities include: Aligning curricular standards with state guidelines Documenting annual, unit, and lesson plans correlated to standards Monitoring student progress through assessments Teaching 4 classes daily Analyzing student data and differentiating instruction Supporting and co-leading Service-Learning projects Advising students during daily Connections (homeroom) class Inputting academic and behavioral data into the school data system Participating in parent/teacher/student conferences three times per year Communicating regularly with families about student progress Building a strong school culture focused on achievement Collaborating with colleagues and participating in weekly PD and team meetings Who You Are
You are a skilled educator with at least 2 years of experience teaching STEM courses, preferably high school Science. You have experience implementing culturally responsive curricula, are committed to standards-based teaching, and excel in creating student-centered environments. You proactively address students' academic and social-emotional needs, have a proven record of success with diverse learners, and are passionate about Salem Academy’s mission. You value assets and community wealth, foster inclusive practices, and maintain a respectful classroom climate. Qualifications include: Belief in the school's mission and vision Relentless commitment to student achievement Standards-based teaching expertise Ability to create a safe, respectful environment Experience with diverse student populations Interest in integrating academics with service work Collaborative spirit and eagerness to innovate Massachusetts Teacher Certification or MTELs completion We believe that a positive adult culture underpins our students' success and strive to cultivate mutual respect, integrity, professionalism, and kindness throughout our community.
