Fitness and Aquatic Center Instructor I
Front Porch Communities & Services is seeking a dedicated instructor to lead fitness and aquatic classes for residents in the Strength Training room and pool area. Pay Range
Front Porch Communities & Services provides the following pay range. The actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Base pay range: $22.30/hr - $27.00/hr Summary
The Fitness/Aquatics Specialist leads patrons to fitness classes in the centers’ Strength Training room and Pool area. This position leads residents in fitness and aquatics classes in the fitness room and pool area. Essential Functions
Conductes aquatic and non-aquatic group exercise classes in a welcoming and nurturing environment for all residents and guests. Provides a range of acceptable activities to meet the various fitness levels of class participants and adheres to appropriate safety guidelines. Demonstrates exercises and appropriate use of equipment. Document resident attendance and individual fitness progress data as needed. Responsible for maintaining class attendance level by Front Porch Community requirements. Partners with other staff to help clean equipment and other areas of the facility as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Effective oral and written communication skills appropriate to the audience's needs. Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations live via online or virtual mediums. Excellent collaboration and team-building skills. Effective conflict management skills. Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction, problem identification, and resolution. Decision Making and Organization Skills
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis. Experience and Qualifications
Essential Experience
1 year of experience as an instructor and/or assistant to a fitness or wellness director with prior fitness and/or aquatic program experience. Preferred Experience
1 year of experience as an instructor and/or assistant to a fitness or wellness director with prior fitness and/or aquatic program experience; Certified personal trainer. Education
High School/GED; General Studies. Preferred Associate Degree. Credentials
