Instructor, Logistics (Part Time) - Adjunct Pool Req Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs. Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies, and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Instructional Faculty encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development, and institutional and community service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching: Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in the teaching discipline, continuously improve instruction, develop and use a syllabus, plan and deliver varied teaching methods and materials, evaluate students, maintain accurate records, provide timely feedback, recommend textbooks, teach at various times and locations, develop and maintain an LMS shell, use equipment responsibly, and explore new instructional methodologies.

Academic Advising: Maintain professional relationships with students, provide access through office hours and electronic communication, and offer advising during class time and office hours.

Professional Development: Establish annual objectives for growth, keep pace with discipline developments, learn and apply new technologies, and participate in the department’s evaluation process.

Institutional and Community Service: Participate in committee and governance activities as required, adhere to all HCCS policies and procedures, and maintain program and college accreditation standards.

Qualifications Education

Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Business or related field required. Preferred fields: International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain Management or Management.

Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field with five years direct industry experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management may be accepted in lieu of the required degree.

For International Business Law instruction, a JD with relevant experience is required.

Copy of transcript conferring required degree and certifications must accompany application.

Experience

Three years of work experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.

Preferred experience: quality improvement, lean or Six Sigma, customer‑focused strategic planning, high‑volume production distribution or manufacturing software, ERP technical competency, distribution management systems, inventory control systems/processes.

Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Able to teach all courses in the Logistics curriculum.

Willing and able to teach day or evening classes at multiple sites.

Proficient with a variety of computer software.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Good organizational and planning skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning‑centered environment.

Self‑disciplined and able to manage tasks effectively.
