Larimer County, Colorado Role Overview
An Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) will provide professional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients at our acute care facility. The primary focus will be rounding on clients admitted to our crisis and/or detox units. The advanced practice provider (PA or NP) will serve as the medical team representative to a multidisciplinary treatment team designed to offer comprehensive behavioral health services. Responsibilities include evaluating patients for substance use, mental health, and medical disorders, determining the appropriate course of treatment, maintaining documentation standards, and complying with county, state, and federal laws. Major Responsibilities
Function as the medical team representative to a multidisciplinary treatment team. Evaluate patients for substance use, mental health, and medical disorders. Determine the appropriate course of treatment for patients. Maintain documentation standards. Comply with county, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to health care. Engage and communicate effectively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities. Required Qualifications
Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) degree or Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited university. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with persons from marginalized communities and other vulnerable populations. Understanding and commitment to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles. Preferred Qualifications
Spanish language skills. Other language skills also beneficial. At least 2 years’ experience treating/servicing persons with substance use and mental health needs. Strong understanding of substance use treatment and knowledge of withdrawal management processes. Valid Colorado driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle. Benefits
