Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and deliver top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager as appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training store associates in all aspects of their job responsibilities.
Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, address unsatisfactory performance, and ensure alignment with company and store guest service expectations.
Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control and loss prevention practices, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates to meet guidelines; supervise staffing levels to ensure superior guest service.
Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked.
Ensure store areas are clean, organized, merchandised per guidelines, and equipment is in proper working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
Perform store inventory counts and restock as needed; maintain organized and alphabetized product placement.
Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage banking deposits per guidelines.
Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct merchandise counts/inventories.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling.
Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
Help maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Adhere to all store policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Problem-solver; able to work under pressure with no impact on guest interactions.
Reliable and trustworthy; exercise good judgment.
Able to work alone; stand and move for extended periods.
Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related tasks.
