This role provides support to the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote loyalty through selling behaviors. Support the shopping environment and visual/operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships to drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including handling changes, receipts, and ensuring quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training of store associates in policies, procedures, and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates and document performance in applicable HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed by associates prior to opening/closing a shift; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to meet guidelines, manage breaks, supervise staffing for optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage time-off requests, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness and organization; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill and ship Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages and belongings as appropriate and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative and operational duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and banking according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and report issues; conduct merchandise counts and communicate discrepancies to management. Process defectives/ recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills & Abilities

Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of tasks. Work independently and as part of a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system and perform basic math and alphabetical tasks. Complete required paperwork accurately and follow written or diagrammed instructions. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays; minimum 3 days/week. Manage pressure and adapt to challenging situations; be creative and solution-focused. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to exercise good judgment. Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs, with bending and other physical activity as needed. Onboarding may include knowledge of military ranks and insignia where applicable.
