Industrial Drawing Instructor - Part-time Adjunct Pool Location: Bakersfield College -- Panorama Campus, CA Department: Industrial Technology Responsibilities
Provide instruction in Industrial Drawing across a full range of courses. This assignment may include teaching at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and using multiple teaching methodologies. Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Industrial Technology department. Maintain subject matter currency; develop and revise curriculum; use computer and multimedia technology. Engage in collegial activities within the department, college, and discipline-specific areas. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree AND 2 years related professional experience; OR Associate degree AND 6 years related professional experience; OR The equivalent. Provisions: If the applicant holds a master’s degree, professional experience is required and must be directly related to the teaching assignment. See also the equivalent qualifications process and related Notes. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students. Degrees and credits from accredited institutions; for non-U.S. degrees, evaluation may be required. Knowledge & Abilities
Broad and deep knowledge in Industrial Drawing; ability to develop curriculum and deliver via different modalities. Ability to recruit and articulate transfer programs with local schools, colleges, and universities. Effective written and oral communication; ability to assess student learning outcomes; maintain subject matter currency. Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that benefit the program; commitment to the California community college mission. Additional Information
Representative duties may include teaching at multiple sites and various class formats; participation in departmental governance and professional activities. Salary: starting at $67.00/hour; hourly rate may vary based on assignment and the LHE formula. Work hours may include day, evening, and weekend classes. Special Instructions
