University of Western States . This position is a 1.0 FTE, exempt role providing academic and accessibility support to students, primarily on campus, with some remote availability.
Position Summary
The Student Success Advisor supports the UWS mission by enhancing the overall student experience through the programs and activities that promote academic success. Under the direction of the Director of Student Success and in coordination with other university personnel, the Advisor provides academic support services such as student advising, coaching, tutoring, and accessibility services.
Key Responsibilities
Student Success Advising (20%) – New Student Advising, Academic Advising, Success Coaching, Academic Standing Advising, Leave Advising.
Accessibility Services (50%) – Facilitate programs for students with disabilities, comprehensive support services, direct support and advising to students with temporary and permanent disabilities.
Tutoring Program (10%) – Supervise and create schedules for student employees and tutors; Review and approve tutor and student worker schedules and timesheets.
Student Inquiries and Support (20%) – Answer questions about services and support available to students; Provide direct assistance to students to access available services, navigate UWS policies and procedures; Lead efforts to promote and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment; Stay current on national trends and best practices in student services and student advising; Attend training, meetings and conferences as directed; Serve on campus committees as assigned; Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education & Training
– Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Required Experience
– Two years in an advising or student support role in higher education; direct support to students with disabilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
– MS Office proficiency; intermediate database management and report preparation; exemplary written and oral communication; ability to build strong student relationships; discretion with confidential information; problem‑solving and adaptability; priority management; high professionalism.
Preferred Experience
– Three or more years in an advising or student support role in higher education; experience with student information systems or other enterprise systems.
