Memory Care – Activities Assistant

supports residents through planned activities, event coordination, and community vehicle operation. The role requires excellent customer‑service skills, genuine care for residents, and adherence to MBK core values.

Schedule & Compensation

Thursday – Saturday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Pay $17 – $18 hr Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching up to 4%, childcare, eldercare, flexible spending accounts, competitive salary, professional development, team‑member discounts, health‑and‑wellness resources.

Responsibilities

Attend, assist, and lead planned activities and special events; decorate for major holidays. Survey residents, observe preferences, and recommend appropriate activities. Encourage resident participation in activities. Operate community vehicle (licensure and willingness required). Create flyers, calendars, newsletters, and update social‑media websites. Aid in marketing events. Project a positive, professional image; dress in accordance with MBK principles (no heels or open‑toed shoes). Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, and guests. Perform other duties consistent with the position and as assigned by the Director of Wellness Programming or Executive Director. Schedule, train, and organize day‑to‑day volunteer assignments.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. AA degree preferred or a minimum of two years of work experience in the industry. Background clearance required by government regulations. Must meet health requirements, including TB. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) required. Must read and speak English; excellent communication skills. Clerical knowledge for flyers, calendars, newsletters, and social‑media updates. Reasoning skills to understand issues and process information for feedback. Proficiency with personal computer, scanner, copier, fax machine, email, and Microsoft Office. Compliance with all regulations regarding residents’ rights and safety. Ability to make independent decisions during emergencies and remain calm.

Physical Demands

Mobile; move intermittently throughout the work day and community. Speak with a pleasant voice and command of the English language. Require repetitive hand motion; moderate physical effort to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Able to assist in moving residents during emergency situations.
