Overview
The Northern Missouri Research, Extension and Education Center (NM-REEC) seeks a Senior Agriculture Associate. This position will be located at the Greenley Research Farm in Novelty, MO. Responsibilities
Assist the Sr. Farm Manager in planting and maintaining bulk acres of farm ground. Preparing ground for research plots which includes working the ground, planting, harvesting, and assisting in any special requests to support research Faculty & Staff to support the Research Mission. Understands how the team integrates with others to accomplish team objectives. Ensures and practices the safe use of equipment. Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent (e.g., repairing and replacing equipment/parts). Prepares bid information and may approve parts purchases. Oversees the storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste. Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team, especially as it relates to scheduling and researching. Exchanges ideas and information effectively with others inside and outside of own team (e.g., researchers, clientele, administrators); uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with others. M-F 40 hours/week, occasional overtime required during peak seasons. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $17.05-$29.69 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
