Inside Sales Representative
Job Overview The Inside Sales Representative is a dynamic, customer-focused professional responsible for driving sales growth within the aerospace fastener and distribution industry. The role requires proactive business development, generating leads, nurturing relationships with key decision-makers, and closing major deals with OEM suppliers and manufacturers. The representative manages the entire customer order process—from quotations and order entry to expediting and customer service—ensuring a seamless experience for clients. Success depends on thriving in a fast-paced environment, making strategic pricing and margin decisions, and consistently exceeding customer expectations through exceptional service and deep product knowledge. Collaboration with account managers, suppliers, and team members is essential, as is a commitment to continuous learning and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth within the aerospace fastener and distribution industry through proactive business development.
Generate leads and nurture relationships with key decision‑makers.
Close major deals with OEM suppliers and manufacturers.
Manage the entire customer order process, including quotations, order entry, expediting, and customer service.
Make strategic decisions on pricing and margins.
Collaborate with account managers, suppliers, and team members.
Maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Essential Skills
Strong sales skills.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and database tools.
Experience in aerospace fastener or related distribution industries.
Distribution experience within aerospace and commodities transferable industries.
Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP and pivot tables) with a test score of 80% or higher.
Experience coordinating with a shipping department or logistics.
Strong data entry skills.
Accounts receivable experience (not collections).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
SAP system knowledge.
Aerospace experience.
Customer service orientation.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1 year of prior experience in a similar customer service role.
1–2 years of data entry experience.
Knowledge of completing reporting in Excel and emails.
Demonstrated ability to balance priorities.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Advanced Excel skills desired.
College degree in a relevant field preferred.
1 year of experience with aerospace hardware and fasteners.
Understanding and experience with placing purchase orders.
Work Environment This is a fully onsite position with an alternative workweek, offering a Friday or Monday off every other week. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Location Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, California. Fully onsite.
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $27.00 – $30.00 /hr.
