Accounts Payable Manager

Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager Hog Slat, Inc., the world's leading provider of equipment and turnkey facilities to the swine and poultry industries, is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager with excellent customer service skills to join the team at our location in Newton Grove, NC. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Team leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train AP specialists or clerks, delegating tasks and managing workflow to ensure deadlines are met. Invoice and payment processing: Oversee the review, verification, and coding of all invoices and expense reports. Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of payments via various methods (e.g., checks, ACH, wire transfers). Vendor management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing any payment inquiries or disputes. Negotiate payment terms and discounts to optimize cash flow. Reporting: Prepare AP aging reports and vendor payment summaries, for senior management. Month-end and year-end close: Coordinate and manage the AP closing process, including reconciliations and accruals, to ensure accuracy and readiness for audits. Process improvement and compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve efficiency, increase accuracy, and strengthen internal controls. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, such as 1099 reporting. Audit preparation: Provide necessary documentation and support for both internal and external audits. Skill/Knowledge Required: 8+ years of recent experience in an accounts payable role Management experience Must have very strong data entry/typing/computer skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to use Outlook Email, Word, Excel, in daily communications Ability to easily become proficient at using Hog Slat's inventory management software.
