Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s contract management, rental inventory, billing, accounts receivable, collections, and sales tax functions ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. This role also involves assisting with ad hoc audits/reports and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant may also provide guidance to junior accounting staff and work closely with management to improve financial procedures. Key Responsibilities Daily order processes to include preparing and analyzing sales contacts for community bank clients
Monitor and manage orders pending completion by operations (installation schedule)
Manage and track the company’s rental inventory assets
Monthly billing in NetSuite including order entry, recording one-time and recurring invoices, setting up deferred revenue billing, and updating orders for pricing or service/hardware changes
Monitor, manage, and reconcile customer prepaid deposits or customer returns
Assist with collections on past due accounts as needed
Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns for multiple states
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
Assist with researching customer and billing accounting activity and/or preparation of financial reports as needed
Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Mentor and support junior accountants, providing technical guidance as needed
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred)
3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills Intermediate experience with Excel
NetSuite billing and accounting experience
Knowledge of sales tax compliance and reporting
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability in a dynamic environment
