Data Center Technician role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver safety, security, and capacity at scale. You will work in an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. The position helps ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This role involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and participation in an on-call rotation. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities
Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds Working in cramped and/or elevated locations Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching Standing and walking for extended periods Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely Working in an industrial environment Supporting 24/7 operations with shift work Day in the life includes taking ownership of technical issues, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, proactive issue detection, and process improvement. Basic Qualifications
Associate’s degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience 2+ years of experience with server hardware 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems Preferred Qualifications
A+ or CNDT/Network Defender/Network+/Security+ certs 2+ years of experience in a Data Center environment Understanding of storage devices Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system About the Team
