Milliman’s Tampa Health Practice is seeking an Actuarial Analyst who is excited to join their vibrant, dynamic, and growing practice. This position offers the opportunity to work across various areas within the healthcare industry alongside leading experts. Role Actuarial Analysts perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, R, Python, and proprietary Milliman programs to assist with consulting in health insurance sectors such as Medicare, Commercial/ACA, Medicaid, Pharmacy, and Provider. They also support consulting for pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacy benefit managers, and others. Responsibilities include pricing, reserving, financial projections, and claims cost analytics. Analysts review peers' work, assist with research, and product development. Progress through actuarial exams is expected. Within project teams, Consultants, Managers, and Professional Staff collaborate to deliver reports and client solutions. Consultants build client relationships, lead projects, and present results. Managers review work, answer questions, and develop client communication. Professional Staff handle technical tasks like data analysis, actuarial calculations, model development, and software implementation. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field At least two actuarial exams passed Minimum 2 years of actuarial experience Experience with SAS, VBA, R, Python, or similar languages is advantageous Experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, commercial insurance, pharmacy, or provider risk programs is strongly preferred Competencies and behaviors: Strong verbal and written communication skills Analytical thinking for evaluating analyses Ability to meet deadlines and ensure quality Ability to work independently and in teams Client-focused and results-oriented Ambition for professional growth in actuarial field High integrity Location Onsite at the Milliman Tampa office.
