Position Overview:

This role involves helping keep capital projects within budget through accurate and timely tracking of all expenditures. Assist the Fixed Assets Manager in managing the entire fixed asset inventories at all Ruiz Foods locations.

Compensation:

$70 - $80K/year DOE

Responsibilities:

Generate purchase orders (POs) and process invoices for capital expenditures on a timely basis.

Help keep capital projects within budget through accurate and timely tracking of all capital expenditures.

Develop an understanding of sales tax laws and variables, including sales tax vs. use tax, different rates per county, and laws per state.

Maintain capital expenditure cash flow and contingency spending by tracking all expenditures.

Work cross-functionally with Project Managers to close completed projects promptly.

Complete month-end close duties, including running depreciation, accruals, and reports.

Reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger, investigating discrepancies.

Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal metrics.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing variances and providing reports.

Assist in external audits by preparing schedules and addressing queries.

Support special projects related to fixed assets or capital spending.

Review processes for automation and efficiency, collaborating with teams to optimize asset management.

Implement best practices in month-end close, minimize risks, and support decision making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles; experience with capital projects or fixed assets is a plus.

Experience with ERP systems (lnfor M3 experience highly desirable).

Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and strong PC skills, including effective communication.

Ability to develop a working knowledge of BNA Fixed Asset.

Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel, vendors, and contractors. Organized and able to multi-task.
