Scope
Within our Portfolio Valuation practice, our clients include many of the world’s largest hedge funds, private equity funds, direct lending funds, and business development companies. We advise them on the valuations of illiquid debt, equity, and complex securities in order to meet their investor and regulatory financial reporting requirements.
Financial Analysts within our Portfolio Valuation & Advisory Services practice are fully integrated members of our engagement teams. You will work with a dedicated, highly talented staff of professionals who will give you broad exposure to many issues affecting businesses today.
Responsibilities
Supporting FVA portfolio valuation teams, providing valuations of illiquid debt and equity securities held by hedge funds, private equity funds, and business development companies.
Performing financial statement analysis and other quantitative and qualitative assessments.
Reviewing client investment memoranda, board presentations, and financial models.
Compiling statistical summaries of companies’ financial information and developing financial ratios.
Reviewing published financial information, such as public company filings and reports from research analysts.
Identifying relevant comparable public companies and M&A transactions.
Constructing and reviewing valuation analyses, including guideline public companies and discounted cash flow analyses.
Researching general economic conditions and industry-specific trends.
Participating in due diligence meetings and communicating with clients.
Designing and drafting client deliverables.
Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals to clients.
Performing other ad-hoc research and analytics as required.
Coordinating with internal teams to prepare engagement invoices and compliance procedures.
Participating in discussions with legal counsel as required.
Assisting with marketing initiatives for prospective and existing clients.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong quantitative skills.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of work experience at an accounting or valuation firm.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Applied Economics.
Strong analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent understanding of financial statement analysis.
Understanding of financial valuation theory and methodologies.
Strong knowledge of Excel modeling.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with team members.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional work ethic.
Experience with Big Four or Independent Valuation Consultants is a plus.
Salary Range
$70,000.00-$120,000.00
