Non-Exempt Job Description
Typical business hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, with potential overtime. This is a starting position for the sales force; you should be willing to work closely with others as part of a team focused on company growth and customer service, serving as the main point of contact for clients. Loan Officers can structure their work hours around client time zones or peak sales hours and are expected to self-manage their time. Purpose:
Loan Officers act as the main contact for Borrowers and Retail Operations during the loan origination process. They should proactively generate their own client base and stay informed about new loan types and financial products to meet customer needs. They are responsible for meeting or exceeding weekly/monthly production goals, maintaining compliance, and resolving issues while providing excellent customer service. Essential Functions/Duties:
Market and promote company initiatives through various channels to generate interest and promote loan products. Develop a pipeline of prospective clients and set up meetings with decision makers. Build and maintain relationships with clients, presenting new solutions and services. Handle objections and negotiate effectively. Manage client accounts through follow-up and accurate record-keeping. Engage in business development within the real estate and construction sectors. Attend industry events to identify new opportunities. Assist applicants with loan applications, gather documentation, and analyze financial information. Coordinate with credit analysts, underwriters, processors, and closers to facilitate the loan process. Explain loan options to customers and handle complaints appropriately. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and review loans for accuracy. Attend regular meetings and uphold high standards of integrity and customer service. Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; college preferred. Intermediate computer skills; experience with mortgage software like Encompass desired. Minimum three years’ experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Encompass experience preferred. Strong verbal and listening skills, assertiveness, perseverance, and organizational abilities.
