The Nature Finance Specialist position is based at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and plays a critical role in advancing the use of natural capital approaches in international finance and policy making. The specialist will be part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with international financial institutions (IFIs) and multiple country governments to drive the integration of nature-based approaches into standard financial offerings. This position requires outreach, coordination, and a deep understanding of nature finance to bridge science and actionable policies. The role demands strong analytical and communication skills to develop partnerships and funding sources, contributing to the Natural Capital Project’s mission to harmonize conservation with human development goals. Responsibilities

Lead nature finance-related aspects of a research and engagement program. Conduct outreach to country-focused project teams and IFIs. Identify opportunities to mainstream natural capital approaches. Identify and fill research gaps related to nature finance. Share program progress with teams and through written reports and publications. Represent the program at meetings, workshops, and conferences. Contribute to curriculum development and teaching on nature-finance topics. Contribute to the development of strategies and funding proposals. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience. Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources. Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills. Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans. Benefits
