The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect Client’s information systems. This role focuses on key areas such as Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture, Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, and Security Operations. The analyst will act as an internal security consultant, conduct risk assessments, develop security policies, and respond to security incidents while ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as an internal information security consultant across the organization.

Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies and procedures.

Promote and facilitate information security awareness initiatives.

Conduct information security risk assessments and act as an internal expert for cybersecurity issues.

Review and approve system‑related security plans across the corporate network.

Monitor and ensure compliance with security policies and refer violations to appropriate management.

Support the security incident response process, including investigation and remediation.

Provide input on software and hardware selection, focusing on security and compliance.

Deliver incident and problem resolution support.

Contribute to security deliverables for new systems and enhancements.

Continuously improve security configurations and operating procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience in Information Security will be considered.

Strong understanding of malware analysis, threat mitigation, and countermeasure design.

In‑depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles including vulnerability management, patch management, and incident response.

Familiarity with vulnerability information sources such as alerts, advisories, and bulletins.

Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and preserving evidence integrity per industry standards.

Expertise in using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools.

Skilled in conducting vulnerability scans, recognizing system vulnerabilities, and detecting intrusions.

Ability to analyze and interpret data from network tools to identify threats and attacks.

Capable of designing incident response procedures for emerging cybersecurity incidents.

Preferred Skills:

Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Prior IT or security experience in System Administration or Help Desk.

Previous experience working in IT/OT roles within a utility company.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive problem solver.

Certifications (At least one required):

CASP+ CE – CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner

CCNP‑Security – Cisco Certified Network Professional (Security)

CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor

CISSP (or Associate) – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience in Information Security).
