Tasks and Responsibilities
Serves as an internal information security consultant to the organization.
Lead the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to create information security awareness within the organization.
Perform information security risk assessments and serve as an internal expert for information security related issues.
Review all system-related security plans throughout the organization's corporate network.
Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures, refer problems to the appropriate department manager or business area.
Support the security incident response process.
Provide input in selection of system software & hardware, with emphasis on security and compliance requirements.
Provide incident and problem resolution.
Support development of security deliverables for enhancements to production systems and new development.
Implement ongoing improvements to security configurations and operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
At least one active certification from the required certifications list.
Strong knowledge of malware and cyber attack signatures and mitigation.
Experience with malware analysis, incident response, vulnerability management, and patch management.
Knowledge of vulnerability information dissemination sources (alerts, advisories, bulletins).
Demonstrated skill in assessing security controls based on cybersecurity principles and frameworks and preserving evidence integrity.
Experience using SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and intrusion detection tools.
Ability to interpret network tool data and produce intelligence, assessment, or planning products.
Ability to design incident response for cybersecurity incidents not covered by existing plans.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a related field.
Previous experience in IT security roles (System Administration, Help Desk).
Experience in a utility company IT/OT environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Organized, responsive, and thorough problem solver.
Required Certifications
CASP+ CE – CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner – Continuing Education.
CCNP‑Security – Cisco Certified Network Professional – Security.
CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor.
GCIH – GIAC Certified Incident Handler.
CISSP (or Associate) – Certified Information System Security Professional.
