Are you detail-oriented and ready to make an impact? Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will be responsible for reviewing and approving payments in the WOLFS accounting system. This position is responsible for ensuring that proper coding, documentation, and procurement requirements are followed. This position also serves as a trainer for other fiscal staff and coordinates the work of accountants entering payments. Benefits

Responsible for post-auditing payments as submitted by accounting staff, ensuring fiscal accuracy of budget coding, allocations, and object/sub-objects. Provides guidance to staff for corrections and ensures payments are paid and processed on time. Trains new and existing fiscal staff and coordinates the payment entry process performed by accountants. Maintains the integrity of financial data within specialized accounting systems and WOLFS. Performs monthly reconciliation of WOLFS and the specialized accounting system and performs necessary corrections. Responsible for the analysis of budgets and expenditures as needed. Performs special requests and projects, prepares reports, and completes assignments with direct accountability to both the Deputy CFO and Quality Assurance Analyst. Conducts monthly analysis of A&I payment allocations. Prepares, creates, and accurately processes these allocation charges to ensure compliance across all grants and program budgets. Knowledge
Knowledge of the maintenance of accounts, including fund accounts, and in balancing the accounts to the different systems involved Knowledge of computer-based applications including Word processing and Excel Experience with WOLFS is desired Skills in effective oral and written communication Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work as an effective member of the Department's Fiscal team Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant OR Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Finance) Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
