Patient Revenue Management Organization Duke Health’s Patient Revenue Management Organization is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle, including scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

Occupational Summary The Revenue Manager oversees revenue cycle activities associated with the services of the assigned clinical area, maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner while complying with federal, state, and payer-specific billing requirements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate staff activities for charge capture, coding, charge entry, insurance follow‑up, reimbursement analysis, and other PRMO functions for the assigned clinical area.

Monitor staff performance for appointment scheduling, registration, clinic check‑in, and clinic collections.

Develop and prepare/utilize reports to track financial and operational performance across the entire spectrum of the revenue cycle for the assigned clinical area.

Review and recommend changes to the department’s charge master(s) and charge capture documents to maximize reimbursement and maintain billing accuracy.

Identify revenue cycle problems, analyze data, and implement improvement solutions.

Collaborate with financial analysts, physicians, and administrative leadership to educate and train staff on coding and other revenue cycle issues.

Act as a liaison to management, staff, third‑party payers, and other stakeholders on revenue cycle activities.

Coordinate revenue management orientation and educational activities for clinical personnel.

Develop and manage the budget for staff and activities directly overseen.

Perform related duties incidental to the described work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with CPT/ICD-9 coding and reimbursement systems (IDX, TES, Medicode, PAS, financial analytical skills).

Spreadsheet, database, APC, DRG proficiency, and familiarity with third‑party reimbursement guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Six years of experience in the healthcare industry required.

Bachelor’s or higher degree in BA, BBA, RN, CPC, RRA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.

Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to manage staff and budgets effectively.

Location & Salary Durham, NC – Salary range: $105,000.00 – $115,000.00.
